        The mumps virus is preferentially lodge in some salivary glands (the parotid), pancreas, testes and the nervous system. Man is the only reservoir of the virus: the animals are not affected by the disease. Complications can occur especially in cases of testicular (risk of sterility ) or nervous (permanent deafness) damage.

        In case of orchitis:

• Bacterial orchitis;
• Testicular torsion.
